# How is it different than other M2E?

We cast doubt on this trend because we think Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 service development should go together, not leaning to one side. &#x20;          According to World Bank statistics, the current internet penetration rate has just reached 100% around the world. Therefore, although the majority of people think the development of Web 2.0 has come to end, we think the ‘access story’ has 'now' arrived at the conclusion because now most of the world's citizens are accessible to the internet. So the Web 2.0 ‘use story’ does not yet show the bottom since most people are now online, but most of the money is still not. Web 2.0 service still has a lot to talk about and a lot to make a lion’s share so it is early days yet to hop on Web 3.0. These two should go together to grasp both users. Then how? # Problems

## There are different limitations of Web 2.0 and Web 3.0, which WalkMining tries to solve simultaneously <mark style="background-color:yellow;">by bridging two ecosystems.</mark>&#x20;

&#x20;          Firstly, the obstacle of Web 2.0 is that the service is **limited to a specific country (region),** which we call geographic limits. Some of the countries in Southeast Asia and South Africa do not have stably settled down fitness apps yet. Secondly, most of the Web 2.0 apps have **currency transaction limits** so that the earned rewards from the APP are in the form of that country's currency. In conclusion, Web 2.0 created in certain countries has limited use and is hard to expand the service to other countries or the world.&#x20;

&#x20;          Thirdly, in terms of Web 3.0 M2E services, **3 main limitations exist; profitability, playability, and accessibility.** Lots of current M2E services do not have business models that benefit the company and its users simultaneously.​ The existing M2E does not have a firm business model in which users and projects can coexist so the profitability seems vague in the long term. Fourthly, M2E services are on the same page as play-to-earn (hereinafter, P2E) services but lack playability. There is less feeling of 'playing' the service with one's own profit within the app, and other M2E services are designed difficult to see at a glance how their steps return to profit. Lastly, accessibility is also important for M2E services to let people join the services at any time although the services started way before the new users sign-up. Since recent M2E services are designed in such a way that only the existing initial users make a profit by holding NFTs, it is difficult for new users to start and for the project to maintain the number of users as time goes by.


# How we solve them

## As mentioned, **WalkMining overcomes both M2E and Web 2.0 limitations by bridging the most global technology, blockchain (Web 3.0), and the most interactive social service (Web 2.0).**&#x20;

&#x20;         Because it is a blockchain-based service, **it is not operated in a country-limited manner (Web 2.0)**, so it is possible to collect worldwide users. Since the blockchain currency is based on token economics, the usage of the currency is also over a certain country boundary and can be used in users’ preferable manner.&#x20;

&#x20;         From the perspective of Web 3.0, **WalkMining is profitable, playable, and accessible.** Establishing a win-win business model that brings new and existing users together and brings profits to the project is important but most of the M2E services do not have a core business model. We made it our goal to ensure this would not be the case in our M2E service, with rigid core business models. WalkMining built the long-term quality of a winning business model that explains how users and enterprises interact back and forth. The profits from the business model (advertising revenue and commissions) will contribute to token circulation through advertising revenue and commissions generated from the WalkMining ecosystem. Not only is WalkMining profitable for us, but it’s profitable to its users since advertising viewing and advertising costs are a medium for each other. WalkMining’s simple and intuitive UI/UX shows that one's activity is directly converted into revenue. Continuously clicking ‘Mining tickets’ makes users feel they are 'playing.’ Also, WalkMining designed various ways (spending one's own revenue to spend) that maintain economic value to let people stay active and play with the product. WalkMining’s accessibility has great potential for newcomers and also current users because NFTs are not a necessary item. Users can walk and mine tokens without NFTs with ease. NFTs might help users to raise their mining efficiency, but not a necessity. So newcomers feel easy to dive into WalkMining anytime.&#x20;

&#x20;       WalkMining will continuously urge users not only to feel healthy within the Web 3.0 service but also to feel fully embedded within the profit structure. # Main traits

While the Web3 service has grown immensely in the past few months, we are still early in the evolution of the M2E service. However, since various M2E services have undergone some challenges such as the Ponzi scam in that only early investors make money, WalkMining built up the firm business model indispensable which will be the service's core pillar. Moreover, WalkMining made an effort to fortify our service's competitiveness and to be well-positioned in the wave of M2E services.

### Integration with Health on iPhone and Google Fitness/ on Android

* WalkMining asks users for permission to share health and fitness data with Health APP when users register on WalkMining APP. WalkMining reads out your footsteps data automatically and appears data on WalkMining APP. Therefore, there is no need for users to open or run WalkMining APP in the background when walking and mining. Users do not have to be worried about steps not being counted on WalkMining because steps will be simultaneously counted from Health APP. ### NFT is for outperforming, not a necessity for walking.

* Unlike other M2E services, WalkMining is simple enough for everyone. NFT is not a necessary item for the mining so what users have to do is, download the APP, walk, and mine the tokens. If you are on a diet to be in a good shape, jogging will help you with that goal and consume Energy much faster than walking. The Google Fit app may be required to fetch step data.

**Overview**

Previously, step tracking was based on Google Fitness. Now, users can utilize their phone’s built-in sensors for more precise step tracking. This guide explains how to switch settings and key considerations when making this change.

### How to Change the Setting

1. **Update the app to the latest version (v0.15.0 or later).**
2. Open the app and go to **My Page**.

### Additional Permissions

Using phone sensors for step tracking requires the following additional permissions:

* **Foreground Execution Permission**: Required for real-time and accurate step tracking.
* **Notification Access Permission** (optional): Used solely to prevent step tracking from stopping unexpectedly. This permission is never used for other purposes.

  * *If this permission is not granted, step tracking may stop. We recommend either running the app periodically or enabling the permission for uninterrupted tracking.*

Important Notes

* **Starting May 2025, step tracking will be mandatory via phone sensors, and Google Fitness will no longer be supported.**

* When enabling this setting, previous step data will not be retained, and **step count will reset to 0**.
* Sensor-based tracking accuracy may vary depending on the device.
* To revert back to Google Fitness tracking, disable this setting.&#x20;

### Overview

The Mining Box in WalkMining allows users to accumulate up to 12,000 Energy, with 500 units replenished every hour. For every 100 steps taken, users earn 1 Mining Ticket, which can be used to mine $WKM tokens. Each Mining Ticket consumes 100 Energy when used. You can easily track your Mining Tickets in the mineral box displayed on the app's main screen. When all Mining Tickets are used up, the Mineral Box will display '0'. By clicking on the box, you can start mining $WKM tokens.

### &#x20;Conditions and Rules for Mining Box Generation

To generate Mining Tickets, you must adhere to the following conditions and rules:

1. **Earning Mining Tickets:** You earn 1 Mining Ticket for every 100 steps taken.
2. **Step Counting:** Only steps recorded after logging in are counted towards Mining Tickets. Steps taken during logout or duplicate logins will not be included in the count.

This system ensures that your step count is accurately tracked and rewards you with Mining Tickets based on your activity from the point of login.

### Step Initialization and Mining Ticket Loss

1. **Daily Step Reset**: Steps are reset at 00:00 daily according to Google Fitness data and local time zones. Any accumulated steps from the previous day will not carry over, and the count will start anew each day.
2. **Ticket Loss**: Unused Mining Tickets will be lost with the daily reset. Ensure you accumulate and use your Mining Tickets before the end of the day to avoid losing potential rewards.

## Calculating Mining Box & Mining Tickets Rewards

1. **Reward Calculation**: The rewards from the Mining Box are calculated based on the number of Mining Tickets you use. Each Mining Ticket consumed allows you to mine for $WKM tokens. The value of 1 $WKM token may fluctuate, and the rewards you receive from each mining attempt are random.
2. **Variability and Randomness**: Please note that the exact value of 1 $WKM token can vary, and the rewards you receive from mining are not guaranteed. The outcomes are random, which means each mining attempt may yield different results.

### 1. Meaning

* WalkMining is more than just a basic M2E pedometer APP. It is a comprehensive NFT ecosystem that users can leverage to enhance their experience within the WalkMining ecosystem. Avatar NFT is a genesis NFT of WalkMining, which is a customized character that enables users to gain better abilities based on the NFT's tier, and 'Partz.'

### 2. Avatar Composition

* Avatar Tier: Common, Rare, Unique, and Legend.&#x20;
* Robot Avatar NFT consists of four parts: Head, Body, Arms, and Legs. The details are as follows:
  * Head: Increase the amount of the maximum energy.
  * Body: Increase luck (randomly can mine $WKG).
  * Arms: Reduce the number of ads shown during mining.
  * Legs: Increase the amount of energy charge per hour.
  * Above each Partz has a different tier (Common, Rare, Unique, and Legend) but the overall tier of the robot Avatar is determined by the Body Partz tier.
* Users can change (attach/detach) the Avatar's Partz, purchased on the NFT marketplace or in-APP shop to reinforce their own Avatar.
  * The common tier Legs and Arms Partz cannot be attached to a rare tier body since the Body Partz determines the tier.

### 3. How to get

* After NFT launchpad sale, we are planning to enable WalkMiners to trade each part on NFT marketplaces or within the in-app environment.
* Users can withdraw/deposit the completed Avatar NFTs through the APP and list them on the NFT marketplace.


# Land NFT

## 1. Meaning

* **World:** 'World' is a 'My Place' in the WalkMining ecosystem.
* **Land:** 'Land' is a user's own place that they can decorate by themselves with the NFTs such as buildings, roadside trees, benches, etc. Like, real-urban environments. ‘Land’ layout defines the basic items’ arrangement such as trees, roads, etc. These Lands become World if they are grouped together. It is a unit of the World. The Avatar NFT automatically moves around in the World by themselves to take care of the urban environment.&#x20;

## 2. Real Estate Concept

This ‘Tour’ system will derive meaningful gathering through the WalkMining community, making users feel they are in a united community, not a lonely user in this WalkMining service.
* **Deposit:** When the user ‘Tour’ another user’s ‘Land,’ the visitor needs to pay a ‘Deposit.’ This can be given back if the visitor user completes a mission (the number of footsteps). The visitor can receive the ‘Land’ owner’s NFT efficiency and start the mission by walking. If the visitor fully completes the missions (complete walking), the visitor can get his deposit back and also earn a ‘Mining Ticket’ with ease since the NFT efficiency is applied.

* Tenant A rents Land 1 for a certain period from the landlord and pays the deposit.&#x20;

* Tenant A claims the rewards and divides them with the landlord in an agreed proportion.
* If tenant A does not fulfill the condition the deposit will not be returned and the landlord will keep it.

WalkMining takes NFT assets to create a ‘Land’ system where WalkMiners gather around. Users can raise the mining efficiency of $WKM tokens by placing NFTs. ‘Land’ NFT is not only for raising the mining efficiency but also for decorating your own ‘Land’ to your taste.&#x20;

1. Land: Unit of the ‘World.’ 1 ‘World’ consists of several ‘Land.’ There are a few different layouts of ‘Land’ that can be minted by $WKG tokens. ‘Land’ layout defines the basic items’ arrangement such as trees, roads, etc. The user can try out minting several times to get the one (layout) himself/herself like the most. 3-5 slots are available to each ‘Land’ to place the NFTs. 1-3 landmarks can be situated on each ‘Land.’

## Real estate rent concept

The WalkMining World system takes the ‘Real estate rent’ concept. Similar to the real-world real estate system, WalkMining Land can be rented to other users and share the NFT effect and the rewards. From this, both paying users and non-paying users can coexist and generate profits within the service. To be specific, the following case study will help in understanding.&#x20;

# Case Study

## Landlord and Tenant

The real estate concept of WalkMining begins with understanding the relationship between pay-to-player and free-to-player. Lisa has 4 lands: Land 1, Land 2, Land 3, and Land 4. She bought the NFT (pay-to-player) and placed it in her Lands, raising the mining efficiency more than usual. She has her own Lands situated with the NFTs, so she is a ‘Landlord’ now. Tom is another WalkMining user who is reluctant to spend money on buying Land and NFT. So Tom cannot be a landlord since he does not have his own Land (free-to-player). However, Tom can ‘Tour (rent another user’s Land)’ Lisa’s Land (real estate) to rent her NFT’s effect. In this case, Tom is a ‘Tenant’ in Lisa (landlord)’s Land.

## Time-limit mission

In Land, there is a ‘time-limit mission’ which is to walk a set number of steps within 48 hours of the set time. Lisa, the landlord also can try for this mission in her own Lands. By participating in the time-limit mission, Lisa can earn more tokens compared to normal walking because the NFT effect (higher mining efficiency: earning more tokens by clicking 1 mining ticket) is applied. For example, a free-to-player (user who doesn’t have land and NFT) can convert 24,000 steps to tokens for 2 days, and get 30 $WKM tokens. However, the time-limit mission raises the mining efficiency so users can convert more tokens than usual. So if Lisa tries out for the time-limit mission for 48 hours, she will earn 100 $WKM tokens since she adopted the NFT effect on her Land 1.

## Tour (Rent)

Lisa owns 4 Lands, which she is able to rent to other tenants (free-to-player). Tom and Alex do not have any NFT or Lands so they decided to ‘Tour’ Lisa’s Lands. If Tom starts touring on Land 1 (renting real estate), Alex cannot tour on Land 1. Alex needs to choose between Land 2, 3, or 4 because 1 real estate is available for 1 tenant. In terms of choosing Land to tour, Tom and Alex can compare the NFT effect and select the one which might be most efficient. Lisa, the landlord, lets Tom and Alex tour her Lands and she also can earn tokens because tenants (Tom and Alex) should share their profits with the landlord after touring.

## Deposit and Conditions

When Tom decided to tour Lisa’s Land 1, the tenant should share the profit with the landlord after touring (renting). The profit share proposition is fixed at 5:5 (Landlord: Tenant). Also, since it is the concept of a real estate renting approach, the tenant needs to pay a deposit to the landlord before starting touring. While the landlord lends the Land, the landlord cannot adopt the NFT effect that is situated in his Land, so the deposit system is to guarantee the landlord’s profit by the policy. The deposit can be returned to the tenant if he completes the time-limit mission successfully. However, if the mission is failed, the deposit is given to the landlord. The amount of the deposit is priced at plus 10% of the tenant's earnings. For example, if Tom and Alex tour Lisa’s Land 1, they can see how much they can earn after touring on the APP, and the deposit amount is plus 10% of their earnings. They pay the deposit before starting touring. After Tom finishes the tour, Lisa gives the deposit back to Tom. On the other hand, if Alex fails to complete the time-limit mission, the given deposit will be Lisa’s profit. In the case of Tom’s tour, he gained Lisa’s NFT effect and earned more profit compared to usual walking. Then Tom needs to share his profit with Lisa, the landlord after the tour is finished according to the compromised profit share proportion.
